In 1953 my family moved to Kansas City, KS, from Oklahoma City a few weeks prior to my starting 7th grade at Northwest Jr. High. There I met most of the friends I would continue through highschool with at Wyandotte. How lucky and privileged we all were to have had teachers of merit who encouraged us to excel, while attending class(es) in those facilities second to none. No doubt, we all took it for granted!
In the middle of my Senior year, my Dad (a minister) accepted a church pastorate assignment in Chicago. I was heartbroken to leave Wyandotte behind me, and all it represented to my life, but I finished highschool in Chicago, and then returned for graduation and my diploma with my Wyandotte Class of '59.
Chicago was a captivating city, and to this day, is one of my favorite places!
Following one year of college, where I majored in voice and piano, I married a Chicagoan in 1961; we had two daughters, one son. In early 1970 we were divorced. The children and I relocated to Oklahoma City to be near my parents(who had returned there) and I continued college.
In July '71 I remarried a man who became the wonderful Father my children needed, and the husband I adored. We moved to Pasadena, CA in 1980.
We have travelled throughout the U.S. and Canada, plus Japan, Korea, China, and most of Europe. The place that lures us back the most often is Paris, France.
I have been blessed with a successful career in Interior Design which I still find delightful as well as a challenge day after day.
Our grown children all reside in Southern California along with our five handsome grandsons, ages seven to sixteen.
I look forward to renewing old acquaintances from Wyandotte!
