After Wyandotte I went to KU for one semester, ran out of money and grades, worked full time until the fall. Enrolled in KCK JUCO ("Longest campus in America"-it was right on State Avenue, which is also US 50 highway). Finished my BS at KU, worked at the KC Star for a couple of years before heading off to Columbia and the University of Missouri where I completed an MS in photojournalism. Back to the KC Star, but this time as Director of Photography for Star Magazine. Mid life crazy in 1983, left the Star, bought a Great Harvest Bread CO franchise and moved the family to Colorado. Not a good idea. Back to KC and freelancing, which I continue to do today. If we would not have dropped all of our nest egg in a big hole in Denver (read: business went belly-up) I might be writing this from Bermuda or some other garden spot. But it's been fun :)
