The day following graduation, I went to work at Guaranty State Bank, where I stayed for seven years. In 1980 I went to work for the Boilermakers International union, where I am their assistant managing editor. I married Dennis Dillon (class of 1971) in 1974; however, he passed away in 1990. We had two daughters together: DeAnna (born 1977) and Amy (born 1978). Both girls are college graduates: DeAnna teaches fifth grade at Ascension Grade School and Amy is a nurse at Shawnee Mission. DeAnna also gave me my first grandchild, Aidan Thompson Denney, in 2007. I went back to school at night following my husband's death and in 1998 earned my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from St. Mary's College, majoring in English, with minors in Pyschology and Sociology. In 2003, I married Bill Almond. We now make our home in Trussville, Ala. Since I do everything by computer, I was able to keep my job with the Boilermakers. I hope to retire at age 55 with 31 years of service!!!!
