Joyce (Mayberry) Sackman
Wyandotte High School - Class of 1960
In Loving Memory.
I have been married to Don Mayberry (1957 Washington H.S.) since April 15, 1961. We have two daughters who live in the area. I did not have to work outside the home but did part-time, seasonal, or temporary office work for extra money; and to help our girls through college. My proudest moment was when our older daughter hit in the winning run in the college play-offs that sent Pittsburg State Lady Gorillas to the national softball tournament `in Indianapolis, in 1985. She was a fantastic third-baseman. Younger daughter played centerfield on the same team. What a thrill to fly to Indianapolis to watch both girls play softball. That sport
proved to be an important part of our lives. Younger daughter is head varsity coach in high school softball. Older daughter is co-owner of a small business dealing with every facet of the sport. We thank God that something so much fun is still a part of our lives. We feel very blessed.
By husband, Don 4/24/2015..........
