Maury Breidenthal
Wyandotte High School - Class of 1968

In Loving Memory.

Occupation: Self-employed Architect since 1980. Wife of 37 years: Kathryn - Portrait and watercolor landscape artist. Son: Matt (32) - Structural Engineer in Chicago. Son: John (30) - Construction Manager in Kansas City. Son: Mark (27) - Executive Recruiter in Wichita. Grandchildren: Finally! Who knew getting knocked up would be such an ordeal for generation X?! Anyhoo, John and Kasey are expecting a son in November. Matt and Amy prefer traveling to exotic venues (selfish weasels). And Mark...we're proud to report he's dating within his own species again! Last year I entered an extreme weight loss program called quintuple bipass heart surgery, and it works! I've lost 40+ pounds, quit smoking, and exercise every day...in fact, all the stuff I should have been doing which would probably have avoided the aforementioned cardiac "event". Fortunately the heart muscle is in great shape, but the heart plumbing must have looked like a Bombay sewer. My doctor says I've got "at least 20 more good years" unless of course Miss Kathryn succeeds in one of her frequent and varied murder attempts.

Q: Current Relationship Status?
A: Married, unless you count the Restraining Order.
Q: Any Children?
A: 3 Sons...none of which look like me in the least. Oh well, the braces are already paid for.
Q: Any Pets?
A: 3rd Son: He's extremely cute and almost house-trained.
Q: Military History?
A: Draft #306 (In 1970). If they take me, we are in a cataclysmic world of hurt!
Q: Work History?
A: Intern Architect (1973-77) "Salaried Employee not as glamorous as it sounded." Registered Architect (1977) My first encounter with the "Fancy Certificate & Impressive Title In Lieu Of Raise" dodge. Started Own Firm (1980) Immediately found some glaring gaps in my Architectural education, but on the whole - extremely satisfying.
Q: Any post-Wyandotte education?
A: University of Kansas, Bachelor of Architecture (1973) Self-employed - The "Total Immersion" School of Finance, Collections, Contracts, Employees, etc. Was I gone the day they taught this?
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Texas No Limit Solitaire
Q: Favorite Movie(s) or type of movies?
A: Woody Allen, Coen Brothers, Pulp Fiction, Bourne/Ludlum, The Usual Suspects (did I mention I'm schizophrenic?)
Q: Favorite type of music?
A: Anything MoTown and most Rock up to (but not including) Disco. O.K., plus Flock of Seagulls.
Q: Favorite High School Memory?
A: "Rock Around The Clock" at basketball games.
Coming Soon.
