Family: I was married to Jack Tharp ’54 for 27 years and we have three great sons who married wonderful wives and blessed us with five adorable grandchildren ages 28 to 14 and two great grandchildren. I married Lennie Nicholson in 1992 after eight years of being single. He enhanced our family with two daughters and two grandchildren. My dad lived to almost 103 years and my mother is now 98 and healthy.
Work: I have worked with Hallmark Cards, Civil Service, Kansas City Terminal Warehouse, and finally Metropolitan Community Colleges of Kansas City, Missouri. I retired from MCC at 62 after 30 years, my last position being Manager of the Sponsored Programs Fiscal Office (All Externally-Funded Programs including Federal and State, Student Financial Aid, and Endowments).
Current: I have always traveled as much as I could, but I am doing more now that I am retired. A 6500-mile road trip in 2006 allowed me to get my last three states, so now I have visited all 50. I have been on all seven continents and I have toured 92 countries. My favorite trip is two weeks in Kenya, Africa, and my second favorites are a tie between the Amazon and Galapagos in Ecuador with Machu Picchu in Peru and China and Tibet.
Our last cruise tour was really interesting: Cape Town, East London, and Durban, South Africa; Nosy Be, Madagascar; Victoria, Seychelles (missed this one due to pirates); Muscat, Oman; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Mumbai and Madres, India; Yangon, Myanmar (Burma); Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Singapore. We had been to none of these places except for Singapore which we love.
I hope that my '54 classmates are loving what they are doing during this special time in life as much as I am.

| A: We lost our dog in 2005, so we are waiting until we stop traveling so much before getting another pet. |

| A: Two-year degree from KC Metropolitan Community Colleges, but mostly from the experience of living life and learning on the job. |

| A: Travel, reading, new experiences, a little golf, and always family and friends. |

| A: Not horror, not stupid ones. |
| Q: Favorite type of music? |
| A: 50's through 70's |
| Q: Favorite High School Memory? |
| A: There were so many ones. I loved my high school years and they become more important to me as I grow older. I love to hear from classmates. |
