I graduated from the University of Kansas: BFA in 1957, MA in 1976, and a Ph.D. in 1981. I graduated with a Masters in Library Science from Emporia State University in 1990. I was married to Gary Russell for 29 years. We have three sons, Paul who lives in Seattle, David who lives in KCK, and Mark who lives in Washington, D.C. I am a grandmother with three granddaughters, ages 19, 15, and 11 and also two grandsons, ages 10 and 8. I currently work as Library Director at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS. I have been in the library profession since 1985. I also have taught art at colleges in KC, Duluth, MN, Mexico and England. I am an artist doing watercolor paintings and collages along with mixed media.
